JUEA: STRIVING HIGH STILL
In the last few months, I have been privileged to visit and interact with students from the five Jesuit high schools in Eastern Africa. I was overwhelmingly impressed to listen to the hopes and dreams of these students. The majority of students I spoke to want to be: doctors so that they can heal people; lawyers so that they can fight for justice; and business people in order to ensure accountability.
Their desire for transformative education has been a source of encouragement to the JUEA team as we work towards establishing a university that will develop leaders with the capability to build a more just and humane society. I credit our accomplishments thus far to all the Jesuits of Eastern Africa, our collaborators and friends who continue to support us in various ways with their time, talent, and treasure.
As always, we are grateful for your feedback on the past issues of this newsletter. On our part, we will continue to inform, share, call to action and elicit support from you. Asante Sana (Thank you very much)!
We wish you a very Merry Christmas and New Year’s blessings.
