DUAL CELEBRATIONS!

The JUEA family congratulates and wishes well Fr. Agbonkhianmeghe Orobator, S.J, upon his appointment as the new Principal of Hekima College.Prior to this Fr. Orobator was the Provincial of Eastern Africa Province of the Society of Jesus (AOR).We are indebted to his diligent leadership and support which have brought JUEA project thus far. He remains a full-time member of the core planning team of JUEA.Asante sana (Thanks you very much), Bator!!!

We also congratulate Fr. Jerome Manyahi, S.J ., a member of the core planning team of JUEA, upon successful completion of his PhD in physics at Loyola College, Chennai, India.His doctoral dissertation was "The Logical Interpretations of Quantum Mechanics: The Role of Probability Theory in the Description of Quantum Reality."Hongera (Congratulation), Jerome!!!

JUEA GETS CARDINAL'S NOD

On the morning of Wednesday 17th September 2014, members of the proposed Jesuit University of Eastern Africa (JUEA) Team visited His Eminence John Cardinal Njue, the Archbishop of Nairobi Archdiocese, at his offices at the Holy Family Minor Basilica. Among the issues discussed were the change of leadership at province level and the progress of the JUEA project.


Cardinal Njue congratulated Fr. Joseph Oduor Afulo, SJ on his appointment as the next provincial of the Jesuit Province of Eastern Africa (AOR). The Cardinal also assured the JUEA team and AOR Jesuits of his blessings and support for the university project. In his letter of support to Fr. General Adolfo Nicolas, S.J, Cardinal Njue stated, “Education remains a need and a priority for the development of Eastern Africa.The proposed university will contribute towards the social transformation and integral human development of the region. In addition, it will strengthen the Catholic contribution and commitment towards providing quality human and professional formation based on tried and tested Christian values.”
